My (Bill’s) wife is from Caborca, Sonora, Mexico, which is about a 4-hour drive southwest of Tucson. We met while Bill spent the majority of his time in Nogales, Mexico to set up a micro-credit project there.

We spend many of our holidays in Mexico with Lupita’s family.

Tucson is a nice home for me because I have my mother in Tucson, some family in Phoenix, and with my wife’s family in northern Mexico.

I (Bill) moved to Tucson in 2004 when I finished my Peace Corps service in Nicaragua. I chose Tucson to be near my mother and the Mexican border. Tucson is about an hour drive north of the Mexican border, and it is a great place to learn about a variety of cultures. Living close to the Mexican border allows me to travel often and enjoy my free time with Lupita and our daughters. I grew up in Rochester, NY and had never lived in Tucson before.

One of my favorite parts of Tucson is Mt Lemmon. It’s a nice escape from the heat with lots of good activities. I enjoy climbing and camping along with hiking. It’s a great resource for the city.
