- I (Bill) lived in Portland for 4 years starting in 1993. I really enjoyed my time there. I got involved with rock climbing and mountaineering. I enjoyed backpacking and hiking. My wife at the time was bipolar and had troubles dealing with the grey seasons. We ended up moving from Portland to Denver to seek more sun shine. My first wife and I were divorced shortly after that and I joined the Peace Corps and moved to Nicaragua.
